Completely free stock photography sites

StockXchng – http://www.sxc.hu/

There is over 39300 images available, Images are generally excellent. A little bit of searching you can find some really professionally composed and high quality stock.

Flickr – http://www.flickr.com/

The brilliant flickr! Loads of fantastic images available to use for commercial work through the creative commons. Make sure that when you search for images you check the creative commons check boxes in the advanced search tab before you start a search.

Morgue File – http://www.morguefile.com/

Lots of cool images, you can find some impressive stock with a little bit of searching.

CG Textures

Cool site for surfaces and compostional elements. We mainly use this site for 3D texture elements, Photoshop layer elements and After Effects bits. Really good and free!

Cheap stock photography sites

If all else fails we also use iStock and Fotolia – both have a massive selection of beautiful and cheap stock.
