Supply to Sky – A Bolts Journey

Commissioned by Arthur Design/Farsound, Supply to Sky is a cinematic journey that follows a single bolt from point of order to its final destination — secured within a jet engine soaring through the sky.

Inspired by the kinetic energy of Red Bull films and the stylised opening of Lord of War, we were tasked with crafting a story that was both grounded in real-world logistics and elevated by visual storytelling.

Working from an initial agency storyboard, we conducted site recces and process audits to shape a narrative that honoured the actual supply chain while injecting it with drama and momentum. Filming took place across three key locations: Farsound HQ in Brentwood, their Madrid facility, and Iberia Airlines’ maintenance centre. Throughout, we kept the bolt (or bolts) as our central character—tracking it with gimbal-mounted cameras, close-ups along with point of view perspectives, and continuous motion to evoke a sense of purpose and propulsion.

The film culminates in a complex VFX sequence: the bolt is fitted into a jet engine, which then transforms into a fully rendered aircraft powering into the sky. This required match-moving gimbal footage, 3D reconstruction of the engine, and intricate rotoscoping to integrate the engineer’s performance. The result is a seamless blend of documentary precision and cinematic spectacle—a tribute to the unseen heroes of aerospace logistics.
